 What's Your Grin Factor Today?

We're in the business of Grins!  Big, Ear to Ear Grins!  Grins from the rush you get.  Grins that come from unplugging from the matrix we live in.  Grins from seeing whales, dolphins & seals.  Grins from your kids having a blast.   Grins that come from hard earned money well spent. Grins from feeling alive!

Advantages of Trimarans

Advantages of a Trimaran (3 hulls) over a Mono-hull (1 hull)

  • Much Faster (2-3 x as fast!) Once you have experienced the rush of sailing over 20 knots with a rooster tail like a power boat, you'll never go back to being excited about hitting 7 knots...

  • Greater range of places you can visit because of the speed

  • Far lighter (no 10,000 pound keel, less load carrying strength)

  • Flat, even ride (almost no heel)

  • More fun

  • Faster hull shape

  • Higher sail area/displacement ratio

  • Easier to transport

  • No expensive mooring space needed

  • Shallow draft permits access to places keel boats cannot go

  • Small, inexpensive & economical engines can be used because of light weight & streamlined shape

  • Easy to man-handle on the beach

Advantages of a Trimaran over a Catamaran (2 hulls)

  • Safety (much wider beam, which creates much more righting moment).  It is almost impossible to turtle an Adventure Trimaran, whereas beach catamarans flip frequently.

  • Suitable for beginners (Much lower skill level needed to handle a trimaran in same amount of wind)

  • More comfortable and flatter ride

  • Drier ride

  • Points better (sails higher upwind when tacking)

  • Trapeze (harness system) not necessary (because of that wider beam)

  • More lounging area

  • Lighter because main hull carries the mast compression load on a tri instead of the crossbeams

Advantages of a Sit-on-top over open Cockpits

  • You can't swamp it and then break it or sink it in big waves

  • It won't fill up with rainwater sitting at the dock, on your beach, or on you car

  • Structurally stronger

  • Won't step into a big hole when tacking to the other side and break a leg

  • You can use the flat deck as a bed (bivy set-up available)

  • More storage space inside
